Young for Start | Elle Decoration
The exhibition Young for Start is the result of the competition of the same title, organized by the Polish edition of the international ELLE Decoration magazine.
Its idea was born from the need to promote young, talented designers who take their first steps on the difficult path of industrial design. This competition is not only about discovering new faces of design, but also a platform for understanding on the designer- producer-recipient line. Every year we set specific tasks for the contestants; and one of them is the competition slogan. This year it is "The Leading Theme". The leitmotif accompanies us at the stage of each creative activity, this time through the submitted works we want to find out what the leitmotif is for the contestants. What was the idea leading to the design of the competition facility, the creation of a prototype, what values does it carry, and to whom is it addressed?
Let it be to me according to your word
The work is a result of many events. The things that happen in me and around me. I expose myself, even though I do not really want to. It is my decisions that expose me. I can’t choose what’s good anymore, i don’t learn from my mistakes. I fight myself. I limit myself. You became a god for me, although it’s not related to any religion. I need you to choose for me. So I'm giving myself to you. Let it be done to me according to your word.
“Let it be done to me according to your word” is a work about women. About their fear, tiredness and giving up. About how living in the patriarchy affects them. In a world where a man has almost divine power, it is he who decides about female attractiveness and value, whether she deserves respect, love. We therefore become submissive because we were taught from an early age that the world belongs to the stronger sex. A woman should be primarily beautiful, and the sexualization of the female nude is now so common that it has become
something normal. Any rebellion or fighting for emancipation often turns against us. The purpose of the work is not to aggressively draw attention to the naked body, but to use the characteristics attributed to the female sex due to biological and psychological differences. Therefore, the subject was presented in a rather subtle and unobtrusive, somewhat elegant way. The leitmotif is primarily the experiences of the weak, feminine gender.
Family Talks is a board game that favors building and maintaining family ties. The solution is distinguished by the fact that it is not an interference in family relationships, but only a link, an initiation to build and maintain contacts among household members.
The design solution consists of a circular board with a drawing wheel, cards with categories, task cards, special cards, scoring blocks and game instructions. The form of the board is an excuse to gather family members around the table. Provides equal access to all elements of the game. It can be set up in the place where the family most often gathers during official and informal meetings. The cards are printed on both sides and covered with a soft touch foil which increases the durability of the print. The instruction was printed on 200g paper. An additional element are the scoring blocks made in the same technique as the cards. The packaging collects and organizes all the elements and makes them easy to carry. It is made of cardboard and cardboard laminated with paper. The competition entrynis a game prototype.
Thanks to the use of task cards with completion dates after the game, the game does not end at the end of the meeting. This procedure extends the range of the intended operation of the game. Children learn through modeling, i.e. patterns that they draw from their immediate surroundings. They have a direct impact on the formation of socio-family behavior in later adulthood. One of the important factors is proper communication in the family. The more honest and open conversation that is respectful and understanding, the more likely you are to build deep and strong bonds between parents and children.
Plastic Age Memorabilia

Statistically, a citizen of the European Union consumes as many as 200 plastic bags a year, which is as much as 4 kg of plastic.
The project was created to educate, raise awareness and protest. It is a manifesto of our legacy: made of the material that will last the longest – plastic. Souvenirs are a set of objects which are figures made of weights and a foil calendar. They illustrate the differences in how we treat plastic bags from supermarkets in different parts of Europe and in which countries care is taken to use them as little as possible, and where this problem is still underestimated. They show that we should learn from each other and support us in solving a common problem.
Wooden Nautical Map
When the leitmotif of life is two intertwining passions – design and the sea – the search for a product that reflects them is a long process.
The genesis of the project is experimenting with a new material for the author – wood. The aim was to show what is invisible, i.e. the seabed and its relationship with what is on land. The seas and oceans make up 71% of the Earth's surface – and we know so little about them, we think so little about them in the context of global change. Water plays a major role on the Map. The project was created on the basis of bathymetric and nautical maps in an equilateral cylindrical projection – it is one of the oldest cartographic projections. Invented in the 16th century by the cartographer G. Merkator in the era of great geographical discoveries that took place by sea. It all starts with water...
bag made of soda pop tabs
WyRób is mainly about bags made of soda pop tabs. It is not a factory-made product, but it is a 100% hand-made one – each of them is unique and created with attention to details made with materials coming from recycling; the original purpose of the materials was very different.
Due to the fact, that the main component comes from used soda-pop tabs completely new product is being made; the new design helps to save the environment and at the same time creates new quality item that is not only practical and unique in its made, but also elegant and nice to look at. Apart from the bags I do not have a flagship project; I always create new models and keep finding new ways of re-using the soda-pop tabs (for other creations such as flower-pot covers, decorative flowers, Christmas trees etc.). I connect the soda-
pop tabs using a crochet and cotton thread with a method that I have designed myself. I offer a product that comes from upcycling, that one can use for many more years to come. WyRób’s main vision is to use recycled materials and give them a second live; the story only begins here….
Mother lying with her baby
The sculpture Mother resting with the Child is part of a series of works devoted to the themes of motherhood.
The whole is the result of studying the affinity of forms, which I understand in two ways: first, it is related to the topic of motherhood, in which I focus on the relationship between a child and a woman – mother. It is also from this aspect that the second meaning of the notion of affinity emerges, more formal, related to artistic issues – the relationship of two solids, or in the case of a drawing, two shapes.
The discrepancy also defines the leitmotif as the project title. It describes the contradictions resulting from differences of opinion or views.
In the presented project, the author draws attention primarily to the contrast of the juxtaposed shapes and the materials used. The seat, resembling a fabric, is "imposed" on a geometric metal structure. It creates an interesting visual effect and gives dynamics despite the soft, wavy form of the couch. The strong and at the same time simple Polish word "gap" reflects the main assumption of the project, which, despite its apparent simplicity, presents a high aesthetic value, and the limited amount of resources used to make it do not distract attention from contrasting forms. The juxtaposed shapes do not create contradictions, and through mutual interaction they cooperate with each other.
Take on me
The assumptions of the project were mobility and functionality. This inconspicuous stool, economical in form and material, is a great alternative to traditional chairs, both in small apartments and while traveling.
You can easily take it fishing, outdoors, use it in the vaccination queue, and lend it to your neighbor. The folding option ensures easy transport and simplifies storage. The form in the shape of a triangular prism is much more economical than in the case of a cuboid. In addition, the simplicity of the furniture makes it fit perfectly into any interior. The design is made of easily available materials – plywood and fabric.
Landing on the moon
Children's books are the natural environment for illustrations, but we see illustrations almost everywhere – on the streets, in shops, in news and e-mails. So why not use illustrations in adult books?
Landing on the Moon enters into a dialogue with the art book convention. It is a collection of short stories for adults by Paulina Adamczyk, in which the visual language functions on a par with the text layer. The linguistic content of the eleven stories presents the world from a female perspective. The author is skilled at picking out the small nuances of everyday events. Turpist prose of the companions, appearing almost on every page, sometimes rough and brutal, sometimes lopsided and funny, illustration. The literary part drawn straight from life is accompanied by an illustration, as if taken from the street, it is like tiny symbols that are constantly multiplied in cities. What is a symbol, icon, illustration really? What are modern hieroglyphs that we so eagerly and often use when writing text messages and e-mails? Can a book be "read" based only on the visual part? Does the aesthetic content have a gender or is it aimed at some since the literary content is a story told from the perspective of a woman? Does it really matter? To check this, Landing on the Moon was designed so that the two layers that fill it coexist on the pages.
The book is navigated through a table of contents that identifies the location of the stories not only by page numbers, but also by an illustration — an icon — an initial letter, each of which starts a different story. The book is a pretext for discussing the function and purpose of illustrations and the language of images in today's world. After all, it does not lack icons and symbols that we reach for in order to communicate efficiently and quickly. It is also the leitmotif of the project, illustration as a language that we consciously deprive ourselves of in books for adults, stands above linguistic, age and cultural divisions. It is a universal cipher, consisting of characters that can be understood by almost everyone.
The Triango project is inspired by pure geometry. The triangle motif appears in every piece of furniture, giving it a strong character that distinguishes it in the interior.
The entire collection was created under the idea of "beauty is quality and simplicity". An important aspect are materials that are fully recyclable, i.e. a structure made of stainless steel, table tops made of glass and those with a "drawing" that nature has given them, i.e. in the form of marble, granite or wood.
Art in architecture
Taking inspiration from art in architectural design creates unlimited possibilities for shaping the space and gives it a unique quality compared to the surrounding reality. At the same time, architecture can carry a manifesto, e.g. drawing attention to the problem of global warming.
The presented work is based on the original program "Art in Architecture", which covers, among others, such issues as: identity in art, art as inspiration, art in composition and architecture that becomes art.
Kick & Swing
The project was realized with love for vintage fashion, swing dances and jazz music.
Shoes made with dancers in mind. The founder and designer of the Kick Swing brand is a professional dancer, choreographer, actress and jazz and swing dance instructor – Karina Shorets. "I love jazz dances, which cheer me up every day an fascinated with vintage fashion, so I know what real ladies and gentlemen of the 21st century need to add color to their everyday life."
Bread is an intercultural link between almost all nationalities. In its symbolism it refers to the same needs – satisfaction of hunger and spiritual longing, dreams of a better life.
Even in such a culturally and religiously homogeneous country as Poland, the symbolism and tradition inscribed in bread are identical with other cultures, so they can be a carrier of bonds beyond divisions. The publication introduces the subject of the phenomenon of multiculturalism in Poland, as well as a description of the basic, universal ingredients necessary for baking bread and recipes taken from the nationalities studied and described in the publication. It presents tools designed and produced by the author, which are an integral part of the project. The set of tools consists of 11 elements for baking bread at home. Each part is universal and can be used in the kitchen in different situations. Their features and properties have been designed as a result of a careful analysis of the methods of baking bread from different parts of the world.
Urban space for all. Designing infrastructure functional for users with different needs.
City for all is a topic developed by the author in her works. The goal is to create spaces adapted to the needs of all users, regardless of their gender, body build and physical fitness. The problem of Polish cities is the privileged status of cars. Its solution consist not only in legal regulations, but also to design a new, functional infrastructure for pedestrians. Common Seat is a new type of city furniture. It can be especially useful in places where you have to wait, such as pedestrian crossings. It gives the possibility of a short rest – you can lean on it and stand up without straining your knees, which is especially important for elderly.
Contrary to standard seats, Common Seat is designed for two people and its corner shape facilitates eye contact and conversation between users. An important aspect of this work is the inclusion of users in the design process. The furniture was created in the process of participation design with a group of Warsaw seniors, as a part of the “Miejsce+” project.
jewelry inspired by the districts of Warsaw
Collection is an auto-thematic project, depicting selected districts of Warsaw by jewelry forms. Jewelry both represents a given place and encourages you to get to know it more thoroughly.
Inspired by the diversity of Warsaw and the residents' awareness of the essence of good design, as part of my diploma project, I made a jewelry series which are a symbolic reflection of selected districts of the capital. The jewelry collection is an auto-thematic project. It presents a subjective image of five selected Warsaw regions, created on the basis of personal analysis and acquired knowledge. I devoted my attention to the following districts: Ursynów, Praga Północ, Powiśle, Saska Kępa and Żoliborz. Through emotional and visual analysis of each of them, and then preparing a mind map and 3D models,
I was able to crystallize a form that became the object reflection of a given place. On the basis of the prepared visualizations and technical drawings, the jewelry has been made out of silver. Each piece has an intentionally exaggerated form, which I hope manages to intrigue and encourage people to familiarise themselves with the places to which each one relates to.
Space as an Object
„[...] We find beauty not in the thing itself but in the patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, that one thing against another creates [...] Were it not for shadows, there would be no beauty.” 
The author, inspired by the words of Junichiro Tanizaki, designed the "Space as an object" floor lamp to enhance the light experience by interacting with light and shadow at a deeper level. When designing the lamp, she investigated the therapeutic properties of light. The aim was to capture light as an object and interpret the light phenomenon that brings us closer to the pure state of natur

Most of the everyday items are mass produced and their series is standardized. The process of creating Pepos ceramics involves handcrafting and the involvement of a craftsman, which is to stimulate the dying profession of a potter.
The recipient receives a unique and personally marked item. The set includes a mug, a bowl, two sizes of bowls and a plate. The dishes were burnt with dried compostable waste (mainly vegetable and fruit peels) and sawdust. Each of the vessels was covered with a unique pattern and earth colors. The ceramics are polished, thanks to which it obtains a soft, satin gloss. There are no handles, and the user holding the vessel has direct contact with the natural material, which satisfies the need for contact with nature at least a little. The ceramics is not glazed, it has been covered with a hydrophobic coating of nano-quartz (Elements Air), which is safe for health. Each plate, bowl and mug are unique, and the user can freely combine these elements according to his own idea, which engages and stimulates creativity.
Albertdesk is a desk with a non-serrated top structure – the user can place the bar on three types of surfaces. It is made of beech and pine wood, in a minimalist style.
The leitmotif of the project is human uncertainty determined by the pandemic. The Albertdesku project is an attempt to calm fears by stimulating the brain and creative thinking. The designer herself tested the prototype for two months. The creation process started with conversations with people about the psychological discomfort resulting from long-term remote work caused by the pandemic.
Interviews, experiences, registration of feelings, frustrations and uncertainties. The pandemic raised questions about an uncertain future, stress, problems with accommodation in the home space, fear of losing a job, and even fear of death. This led to the question of how to make people feel better without interfering with their daily lives?
An ideal solution must meet three conditions: to improve the users mood, be part of their everyday life and be easily adaptable to the living space. The designer looked for the answer to the first condition in the biochemistry of the brain. For example, in children, the multifaceted development of cognitive processes and motor skills is stimulated through sensory toys. The touch itself causes an increase in the number of hypothalamic receptors – the area responsible for emotions and motivation – releasing endorphins, the so-called happiness hormones. The search process has led to the most obvious everyday item in the pandemic era – a work desk. Beech wood and a minimalist form allow you to introduce an element of nature to any type of interior.
Stimulation takes place by touching an extremely innervated and sensitive part of our body – the forearm. The Albertdesk table top has three different surfaces: stripes, pyramids, and rough discs of wood with a layer of bark. It encourages touching and any interaction both during work and during breaks – mindfulness exercise with closing eyes and focusing only on tactile stimuli. The stimuli delivered during intellectual work can stimulate the brain in terms of creativity and creative thinking. The name is a reference to the varied surface – "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind,
what is an empty desk?" – Albert Einstein
A combination of dishes and poetry, i.e. taste. A sensory experience project that engages all the senses. Poetry is part of the project that is responsible for the process of creating taste and composing dishes based on stimulating the senses. The compositions of the dishes inspired by abstract painting, i.e. the juxtaposition of stains of colors, shapes and textures, are responsible for the element of mystery.
They help in discovering the meal from the sense of sight, through the textures recognized by the sense of touch on the tongue, to the taste and ingredients contained in the composition. The project is distinguished by a tool for generating emotions, food pairing, i.e. matching ingredients to create intriguing taste duets. Well-known flavors combine into unobvious pairs that take on a new character, e.g. avocado ice cream with strawberries or cauliflower cream with almonds and coconut. Food art and the use of abstract painting techniques allow you to create a story and build stronger taste sensations and memories. PotteryY is a design of dishes that have been designed to form a painterly image together with the dishes.
The soft form and wavy line of the bowls emphasize the fluidity of the soups, which can take all kinds of organic shapes. A plate with a diameter of almost 30 cm creates a kind of canvas for painting desserts. The aim of the project is to increase sensory experiences and engage all the senses while eating a meal, and the value of the project lies in the emotions and memories it carries. It is a response to deficits in sensory experiences that have worsened during the pandemic.
The leitmotif of the paintings is color. The range of turquoise colors that give the paintings a holiday atmosphere, a sense of relaxation, bliss, joy from the time we have only for ourselves.
The inspiration was travels to Greece, I took part in the summer time of the year, taking pictures of beautiful landscapes with my camera. The summer time of the year, which invites us to travel, discover new lands, experience, taste new dishes, make friends and enjoy relaxing. The time that we spend in our favorite way gives us a sense of freedom, without rush, without an imposed schedule with the people
we want to be with. Holiday colors are associated with the freedom of time, movement and space. The range of turquoise and blue allows us to relax, loosen up the body and achieve inner peace. Blue calms you down and increases your ability to concentrate. The frames I have chosen are supposed to bring a natural, unforced smile on the face and an overwhelming sense of happiness when we get into the boat and sail forward, traveling without restrictions on the sea.
Negligee – acceptance

Negliż is a project that represents the ethical female underwear brand. Its purpose is to support various customer’s needs including carrying personal belongings. The design provides extreme personalization and takes into account the different needs of women.
The main theme of the project is acceptance – acceptance of body and its different shapes, sizes and needs. An important design assumption was to take into account the needs of female users that face health difficulties such as ostomy, diabetes, mastectomy. One of the goals was to make women with different hidden disabilities feel included by having an opportunity to purchase from a brand that offers a wide range of products to all females. The fact that different lingerie components can be mixed at choice allows every woman to adjust and personalize the underwear to their size and needs. The main element is a belt to which we can attach different cups (assuming also the possibility of using breast prosthesis for women after mastectomy) and external pockets. The design of each accessory also includes discreet pockets, e.g. a pocket for pads in briefs. The concept includes a pocket for a stoma pouch, a case for an insulin pump and a holder for pepper spray. This project passionately targets the utilitarianism that is lacking in the female clothing
The perfect combination
The leitmotif of the project is "the perfect combination". The author processes plastic waste, incl. canisters after industrial liquids. After cutting parts for a specific project, there are fragments that at first glance are more difficult to use, have a specific shape and are not a simple, flat piece of plastic from which any shape can be cut.
They are obliging because they already have a shape, they intrigue and leave you unsatisfied. A single part resembles a single-skin hyperboloid, 3 parts joined together form a curved, arched shape, and 10 such arched shapes mounted on a
rim create a block with an unusual, futuristic, technical on the one hand, and organic shape on the other, open at the top and closing at the bottom in a regular pentagon. And it is this surprising form, complementarity and additivity of nonobvious components, and as a result a consistent and regular form that creates a perfect combination of these imperfect waste – is what distinguishes this project.
Reduce and respect
The theme of our work “Reduce and respect” is frugality, understood as reducing the amount of things we own, the materials we use, but also reduced living space of young adults. As an informal design group we designed four distinct works which represent different attitudes towards frugality, which should be the theme of our everyday life.
“Plenerówka” is a handy laptop stand, easily adaptable for working with your computer in natural surroundings. It encourages frequent changes in sitting position. The theme of frugality is reflected in the little space it takes and the few elements it consists of. It is made of durable materials which will endure frequent moving around and use on the bare ground. “Mimika” is a table for kids ages 3 to 6, which can be put together two ways. Three elements made out of plywood allow seamless assembling and disassembling of furniture, depending on the kids need. The main theme is frugality – of the materials, of the furniture, of the space.
Shape of the pieces was designed with minimal waste in mind. “Celoluz” when put together creates a compact flower stand on which you can fit several plants. Washpapa drawers are designed to fit essential gardening tools. In the bottom container there’s space for soil or extra pots. Frugality of this project is: using minimal space, working with only few materials and also saving money since this stand allows you to plant your own flowers. “Cubo” is a multifunctional table designed for small spaces. The project task was to enable the user to have a seemingly luxurious piece of furniture, which vanity table is, turning it into a generally available product. “Cubo” draws attention to the need to set aside time and space for contact with yourself by allocating space for care.
Made entirely of plastic waste, the project aims to raise awareness.
The chain mail made entirely of used materials – women's tips. The choice of material is not accidental. In the past, colored nails were a symbol of wealth because it was known that people with well-groomed hands did not do physical work. This was also true of men. The painted nails of men were a protective amulet against evil. Today, nails are not only an element of decoration, but also show social status, ownership or belonging to a given subculture. Their appearance is often dictated by time or culture. Today, the fight for women's rights, and above all for equal rights, is brighter than it used to be. Women change the world – from politics to art to social issues. This is the best time for women's voices to finally be heard and for Polish women to clearly express their opposition. The protective armor is made entirely of waste materials. It is created with ecology and the changing world in mind. It shows how important it is to reuse waste materials. The project also symbolizes the enormous strength of women and the willingness to fight for their rights and privileges. Armor made of nails is a talisman with protective properties.
A collection of lighting fixtures designed from materials with varying degrees of biodegradability.
The topic of the work is inspired by the problems of modern economy and ecology. The frames were made by 3D printing, using PLA filament made of coffee, hemp and bamboo. A key aspect of the design is the second life of the lighting fixtures that become home to insects. The main goal of the project is the educational aspect and drawing attention to the permanent changes taking place in the climate and economy on Earth. Climate change and the extinction of insects, especially bees. The leitmotif is living in harmony with nature and making conscious decisions. Project made in the spirit of post-anthropocentrism. After use, lamps will remain in symbiosis with nature as houses for bees.
The table made of wooden boards or strips with the use of laminate (colored at its edges) and a glass top (edges laminated with a color).
The table is inspired by the Polish rooms of the 70s-90s, which many of us remember from childhood. Laminate is extremely easy to clean and durable. Grids, grids, lines, colors, searching for artistic accents to a minimalist form, a constant search for ways to express and break up archetypal shapes through a colorful laminate in order to obtain a graphic impression. Thus, the motive is drawing, both an artistic and architectural studio. The theme is creativity, creativity, form and colorwhich give the space their own rules and originality. The project is inspired by the author's original drawings and her many years of architectural and artistic practice in her studies. The work pays homage to the former Polish space.

He first project is architecture inspired by sculpture – small utility architecture in park. The second is architecture inspired by an image – a villa. The third project is a manifesto architectural – floating utility architecture.
Transitions are the leitmotif of life. Black rubbed with yellows, turning to pure blue. The colors symbolize different periods and phases of life in which we experience many emotions. There are moments of joy and sorrow.
There is an easy time and a difficult time. We go through events and experiences. Their multiplicity is expressed by wires coming from the background of the work. They merge with each other in form and colors. The connecting color is yellow, symbolizing optimism. Also visible on dotted blue and black wires, it indicates the directions of the transitions. The work was created in 2020, during a pandemic. At a time that was different from anything known so far. The author was guided by the question: where are we today? How to go through it? The yellow dotted wires, obtained in the recycling center, clearly associate with the tip. Staying optimistic, we are able to "go through" any crisis. Recycling wall decoration also shows the possibility of recycling electronic waste, such as old wires and cables. Reused, they changed functionality and became a resource that must be looked for today in order to protect our planet.
Modula is a lampshade design made of two geometric modules. Its form is based on kirigami, i.e. art that allows both folding and cutting of paper. Contrasts are the leitmotif of the designed utility form.
Despite the clear dynamics, the shape remains subtle, and the right angles of the symmetrical modules counterbalance the asymmetrical edges of the three- dimensional model. Although the lampshade is in fact stable, the sloped sides give the impression that the form may be unstable. In addition, the precision and minimalism of the lines visible after the illumination of the lines strikingly contrasts with the irregular texture of the material used, which is Tyvek – synthetic paper, which is a very durable, waterproof and light material of the future. The Modula project is also a sculpture, but its usability is a priority. By using zippers, the intensity of the light can be graded, while the whiteness of the material can be a contrasting background, e.g. for children's creativity. Thanks to this, the lampshade is very easy to personalize.
Work refers to the negative emotions that accumulate in us during relationships with other people. Sketches create a therapeutic object, two different surfaces affect our sense of touch and the pain center.

Sketches create a therapeutic object, two different surfaces affect our sense of touch and the pain center. Their task is to transfer mutual anger in a relationship between two people, onto a utility object. By clenching the hands on the outer sides of the glasses, which causes controlled pain, and channeling negative emotions into the feeling. When the anger is over, you can take the glasses apart and drink together and talk calmly about the problem that has created the toxic relationship. The sketches are made using the metallurgical method and cold in the grinding workshop. Both elements are connected by a magnet, together they will remain a coherent sculptural form.

Portraits woven from dreams: how to create a fabric that reflects the author's dreams (and the characters presented in it) in a multi-stage process completed with screen printing.
Konstantin Stanislavski was a Russian theatre practitioner who is known for establishing the system of techniques used by actors to portray emotions on stage by putting themselves in the place of the character. Zuzanna adopted this acting technique into her practice. Her work focuses on exploring and expressing the psychology of the characters she’s portraying. Instead of a literal interpretation of one’s physique, she’s instead interested in representing complicated emotions abstractly. Another subject continuously found in Andrysewicz's work is surrealism and dream interpretation. Characters from her dreams are often members of the family, childhood friends, and other people who have influenced her while growing up. The theme is not only seen in the visual aspects of her work but also in the process and selection of the medium she’s using.
Similarly, dreams are the effect and the surreal collage of our life experiences; Zuzanna's work continually transforming to create a new, more abstract outcome. She uses paintings to create screen-printed pieces, which she then formats 3D sets using props. These were made taking direct inspiration from her paintings. Zuzanna’s goal is to build a range of 3D and 2D outcomes, which are abstract but also tell a coherent and emotional story.
Tools of emancipation
The project aims to draw attention to the problem of gender discrimination in the world of design. The collection consists of four jewelry items. Each form is a reference to "masculine" objects that have become symbols of the sources of sexism, and after processing they have acquired forms that are a manifestation of resistance to discriminatory culture, while becoming tools of emancipation.
The hammer necklace tells about taste, stereotypes and the marketing slogan:
"shrink it and pink it". It responds to the well-established thought pattern that women don't use tools. Pink and smaller to suit the stereotypical tastes of women. It alludes to the history of British soufflés using miniature toffee hammers to break the windows of London shops during protests during the struggle for electoral rights in the early 20th century. Brass knuckles is an ironic answer to the question
asked by Henry Higgins in the musical My Fair Lady: "Why can't a woman be more like a man". It is a reference to seemingly universal products that discriminate against women through ergonomics (such as car seat belts, large smartphones, and
The facility aims to supplement the "shortages" of women by extending the reach of the hand. After putting on the jewelery, the wearer's hand increases the length by 2 centimeters – this is approximately the difference between the average length of a female and a male hand. The bracelet touches on the problem of socially imposed cultural roles, in particular those related to the housekeeping. It is an accessory that allows the user to play the streotypic role of cleaning. It refers to the crumber (a tool designed for cleaning tables in elegant restaurants) and is used to discreetly dispose of crumbs while eating. The brooch symbolizes the taboo of menstruation and the treatment of hygienic products related to the female cycle as embarrassing items. He reverses this situation, becoming a display case, a display of a tampon. Thanks to the easy opening method, it guarantees quick access to the tampon at any time.
Bujadło it is a tool for building the situation at the table during informal meetings.
The main goal was to propose a new approach to the situations that take place around it and refresh the customs related to it. Thanks to them, we can deepen our relationship with loved ones, as well as build it anew. Introducing the element of play allows us to break barriers, teaches us to cooperate, allows us to create an internal language in the home environment and gives us the possibility of new navigation around the table, which was not known to us before.

The work is a response to the need for closeness, to loneliness, to a sense of emptiness, to fear and longing we face in the present, pandemic time. We live among people, keeping a distance, unable to touch each other or shake hands, and the need to participate in social life is underlain with fear. Closeness, which is the leitmotif of the work, gains a new dimension – devoid of the physical aspect, it is limited to the sphere of feelings. The heart-sculpture flashes white light to the beat of the human heart. When the observer is about 4 meters away, the pulse has a natural, slow rhythm; as they come closer, the heart flashes faster and faster, as if excited by the presence of a human being.
The crayons are made of 100% kitchen waste: green tea grounds, carrot and beet peelings, external "ugly" leaves of red cabbage and organic soy wax. The crayons are 100% natural, do not contain artificial dyes, and their color has been developed by nature.
The non-obvious form of the crayons refers to the seeds from which fruit and vegetables grow. This shape also allows you to practice hand motor skills – the pencil fits into small and slightly larger hands. The drying technique used by the author allows you to keep the naturally occurring essential oils inside the waste, which is why the crayons smelled beautiful, additionally stimulating the sensors. The color that the crayons leave behind is not perfectly saturated, because fruits and vegetables are used as dyes. It is the color of nature. A sack of crayons is a reference to a reusable bag, which is useful when shopping at a local grocery store.
MAUO relates to the theme “leitmotif” in several ways.
First of all: triangles and vivid colors are the leitmotif of its elements. Second: the phrases on the Password Cards are juxtaposed with themes. Third: the leitmotif of the game is to build more and more visually economical messages. The main task of the game is to create legible characters with the help of a decreasing (from one turn to another) pool of triangular modules. Instead, the teammates discover which phrase from the Password Card has been illustrated. Imagination, empathy and perceptiveness can help you achieve your goal. There are three game modes in MAUO: Hazard, Sprint and Trade. They differ in rules, dynamics and time. Details of each of them are included in the manual. Work on the project included developing the rules, conducting game tests, designing graphic elements and producing the first copies.
It’s not time yet
"It’s not time yet" is a project that is a contemporary reinterpretation of a well- known desk organizer. Its function was only a pretext to create an object that would encourage deeper reflection on the condition of our planet and the natural environment for which we are responsible.
An attempt at reinterpretation was the reason for the creation of the project "It’s not time yet". This design is a new version of the well-known hedgehog-shaped plastic desk organizer. In fact, it is an attempt to draw attention to ecological
problems and to make the user reflect on the condition of our planet and the role that we should play as its hosts. Re-analysis of what was found and the general change is the leitmotif of the developed project. The final form was made of ecological materials such as wool, wood and dried grass. The resolute rejection of plastic resulted in the creation of an authentic relationship between the material used and the illustrative form referring to the hedgehog, the presence of which was previously lacking. In addition to its obvious function, this item is primarily intended to draw attention to the problem of the presence of these useful animals in our environment. Every year in Poland, several thousand hedgehogs are killed by humans. This means that probably in a few years time, meeting this lovable mammal will be rare.

Simon and Andy, the firefighter – learning by playing" is a toy dedicated for children older then 3 years old and autistic, inspired by the Montessori method. It improves manual skills and broadens the knowledge about emergency services. It makes the parent interact with the child and there can be scenes of a firefighter actions imitated during the play.
A toy dedicated for children older than 3 years old and autistic, inspired by the Montessori method, that helps the children develop and improve independence with fastening buttons and touch-fasteners, tying shoelaces, putting them through the holes, zipping and undoing the buckles. It consists of a firetruck, creatures made of felt, flames and water drops. There is also a time-lapse movie added to the toy set, that presents adventures of the firefighters. The firetruck is made of cotton, denim and filled with silicone pellets. Every toys is personalized with the child’s name. Some of the elements have been hand-painted and some are reflective. There toy set also includes a dynamo torch. The learning takes place on two surfaces: it improves manual skills and broadens the knowledge about emergency services and their rage of activity. The play makes the parent interact with the child. In the beginning, the parent helps with unzipping some of the elements included in a toy, so the child can better explore the abilities of the toy. Scenes of a firefighter actions can be imitated during the play.
The leitmotif, life – light
Decorative lamp which gives a feeling of peace and bliss.
Project life-light was inspired by the actions of Olafur Eliasson, and my little dream of making lamps. I approached the issue a bit artistically and came to the conclusion that an ordinary man seems not to enjoy the beauty of nature, or about little things like a beam of light from a window, from the opposite block of flats, or for a little flower that grows on a parking lot nearby. We work on tasks and we are absorbed in work. The moment that I think connects us all is sunrise or a sunset. That's why I created a lamp that gives peace and bliss which we experience during these events. The lamp is made out of hanging cotton – polyester fabric, wooden bars, aluminum tubes, LED lights and chipboard which has a role of a blend above which the adapter and mounting system are hidden. As a result we get soft light that travels through fabric and beams out at the edges. The lamp is foreseen for a hotel lobby or the restaurant.

Shadow embodiment is a pop-up book metaphorically inspired by the shadow motif in the broad sense of culture. As a result of enlightening three-dimensional elements, the reader creates ever changing shadow collages, which enable visualising the content of the book and gradual discovery and in-depth exploration of shadows poetry.
Shadow embodiment project is a book-shaped experiment, a form of experience, where light, shadow, human body, material objects, movement and screen-like surfaces are all variables of the creative process. The title contains the analysis of the, metaphorically comprehended, shade motif existing in culture, based on seven selected topics deriving from literature, philosophical and psychological concepts, that then got interpreted in terms of history and the role they play in theatre. The book is a trial of visualising unclear and relative terms, as reality, aura, presence, soul or worth. The chosen method of creating shadow images allows capturing their unique ephemeral and volatile character. It is a scenography built live, before reader’s very eyes, a spectacle experienced with full presence, including all the
possible consequences, trials and errors. It is a shadow theatre mise-en-scene the readers can form themselves through play with the scale, proportions and colour selection, using the basic techniques of light projection. Spatial elements of the book, together with the content exploring metaphysical aspects of the shadow, aim to inspire the receiver to experiment. The object then becomes an introduction to one’s own journey into the world of shadows.

A carpet that fits into the city fleece stands in contrast to stones and plants. Hardness and cold, it becomes to soft and warm. We can take this impression with us. What is destroyed and repulsive acquires a new value: it is a fragment of reality chosen by us.

Walls and ground are big network of structures, being swallowed up by tracts of lichens, dirt and soot. Wherever our eyes can see, we meet a new image. Impressions of green and stones are in constant struggle with each other. URBAN RUG it is a reevaluation of the means that we can see in the THIRD CITIMAGE. Ovum jewelry set consists of three rings and a bracelet made of own material of eggshell. The project draws attention to the sentimental side of jewelry, whose leitmotif is feelings. The process of creating objects relate to the process of building relationships.
Ovum jewelry set consists of three rings and a bracelet. The name of the project comes from Latin and means egg. Jewelry is strongly associated with feelings. It is a non-verbal statement of a person. Focusing on the theme of the project I want to draw attention to the sentimental aspect of gold objects. Jewelry is an affix, a decoration of the body at the same time it is strongly connected with human soul. It can be an expression of our emotions and only we know about its meaning. It is difficult to describe something so intangible, which is hidden in persons attachment to an object. Such feelings do not arise immediately, they need time to stay in our consciousness.The basic material used in the project is eggshell. Their fragility is a reference to delicate feelings that are beginning to mature. In the first stage shell is milled next it is made into paste. Paste becomes hard when dries just like human feelings that need time to become strong. The final stage is to sculpt the shape of the objects. The jewelry shapes are varied and rounded to reference the roundness of the egg from they were created.

The results of the questionnaire conducted by the author on sexuality and corporeality confirm that a significant part of the respondents treat their bodies superficially, do not accept them and do not know their reactions.
Out of over 1,220 respondents, only 8.4% rated their body as "five". This prompts us to consider the condition of the perception of corporeality today. The thoughts of the designer included the ideology of slow life, slow sex and the body positive trend, as well as the influence of broadly understood social media on our self- esteem. The result is a series of objects for getting to know the partners own body and body as well as their reactions. The basic assumptions of the project are: influencing sensuality through the use of various shapes, materials and textures, encouraging the user to experiment with their own body (not necessarily in a sexual context), the most abstract form that will not evoke associations with erotic gadgets available on the market, and the use of materials safe for the body.
Designing the set of furniture called SPILO was part of my bachelor degree concerning on the topic of childhood. The main form of child’s activity is play and the best play is the one that teaches. Aiming to meet with children’s imagination I have designed the set of furniture which can be used in many different ways.
SPILO is a set of multifunctional furniture destined for children in the age between 3. and 7. The set consists of four elements, which are: seat frame, seat, mat and table top. Modular structure of furniture enables to connect elements in different configurations, as the result it enables to define new features of the set. Simple shapes of modules leave room for children’s creativity. As endless is children imagination, likewise elements of the set can be used for a creative play. Young user may project new beings for elements, simultaneously developing motor skills and spatial thinking. Materials used in the process of production mostly come from natural sources. Mainly they are: plywood, wood, felt, upholstery foam and fabric. Weight and dimensions of elements were adjusted to the height of a child in the preschool age. Apllied finish aims at providing safety for the young user.
The SPECTACLE scarf, referring to the art of point linocut, whose main leitmotif are hundreds of tiny points, which, thanks to the appropriate saturation, create an abstract image.
A silk scarf, inspired by my paintings and linocuts from the DOTs and SPECTACLE series, the main theme of which (similarly to the point linocut) are hundreds of small points, which, thanks to the appropriate saturation, create a coherent image. This simple accessory is like a work of art that, unlike linocut or painting, is available to everyone. When creating the scarf, I wanted it to be made by a local manufactory with craftsmanship using the best quality materials – just like my graphics and paintings. Thanks to the digital printing method, I have obtained a perfect reproduction of the original images on silk. The scarf is produced only in 100 copies certified by a certificate, which makes it unique and refers directly to the art of linocut.
